Note: The author who gave us permission to post this has requested that she remain anonymous. She is a woman who has faced enormous adversity and obstacles in her life. She is also a woman with an amazing amount of inner strength who holds her head up high. Although she has not fulfilled her dreams in life, she has a deep love for our country and the potential it gives each citizen to be all that they can be. We found her thoughts to be totally inspiring.

OK I am not a great writer. But this is how I feel. I pretty much know what is false and what is true. How ever like many Americans today. It is hard to pick the truth out of the trash that is flying around. So with that said. Here is what goes through my mind when I see or here someone trashing others or screaming and yelling about other people doing something. WHY aren't they doing something to help other than just being a pain in the neck to those who are trying.

I have sat here in tears at times crying for soldiers I have never met. Crying for people who will never have what I have and I don't have a lot. My heart goes out the families who have lost family and loved ones in this and all the wars. I often think what it would be like if we did not have the drive that the people in this country have. HOW FORTUNATE we are to have a school system that teaches us to read. How the rights for people with disabilities are so important because with out the blind being able to read or the deaf having ways to learn and talk they never would learn what their rights are. They would be dependent upon family often times family that does not care about them to take care of them.
WE are driven and we are a country that cares about each other. Many don't learn but not just because they are lazy. But because they don't know how to go about teaching or learning how to learn. There are people who cannot read that love this country. They were in wars and fought for their country despite this terrible disability. And it can be a disability for many.

My heart is broken because of the people that claim to be patriots but prove they could really care less because they would rather go around breaking the law and doing drugs and drinking and partying than do something worth while. They would rather sit around and complain feel sorry for themselves than get up and do something. I am not going to pin point any one issue. Except for those that learning is a problem. Those that are lazy and choose to do nothing over actually getting up and at least trying. If someone sees you trying often they come and give you a hand. Even those that don't know how to help them selves can learn how. They can take a step and start asking questions and talking to people. Learn how to learn. That is what I did. It takes one or several phone calls. It may take talking to lots and lots of people to get anything accomplished. But that is how it goes. That is how you learn. Then there are books for those that can read. There is an incredible amount of information through reading. I cannot emphasize enough for people to get up and take action.

I am the daughter of a chief special agent.. I love my father.. he died of cancer when I was 17... 5 years after my mom and he divorced. My father was a quiet man but he believed in this country. He believed in the soldiers that were in the wars. He was in the navy before I was born... so were his father and brother. Dad taught us about having a work ethic, and believing in who we were. HE taught the older of 5 children about living a decent and good life.

I have never been in a war . I have never been in the military. I tried to join but I was 30 pounds to fat for them. They told me they did not want me. That shot down the esteem of a 17 year old girl with big dreams and a violent drunk step father and a mom that did not care. I am a patriot. Always have been always will be. I was told all my life until I was booted out of my home by my mother at 17 I was worthless. I was taken to a hotel and dumped there. Literally. Not wanted by my mother. Being a young victim of violence in the family I did believe it. But my heart was broken I was beaten down. I did not have a high school diploma and every time I tried to get one I was beaten because my stepfather thought I was out getting high. I was not. I lived hand to mouth. I begged for money to eat. I was raped 3 times while on the streets. Then a fellow street person told me to go to a treatment center for 30 days of a warm bed. I did. I got gang raped. Things just were terrible for me. When I left there it was back to the street. But I wanted better. I did not want to wind up in jail and if I kept going that is exactly where I was going to end up. After living on the streets for about 2 years. I was offered a job in my home town. I took it. I found a job through a police officer that moonlighted as a security guard in an apartment house for the elderly. He got me my first job as part of a maintenance crew.

My first meeting with someone who was a patriot was while I worked at a service station. He ran a group of about 15000 people called patriots in action from all over the USA. I don't know today whether or not this group is still around. I learned a lot about the constitution and how to defend myself with it. I have never had to use it so even today I am a bit rusty. I got involved in life and I did not see the significance of it as I do today. As I moved forward in life My self esteem grew. I got my high school diploma and I learned that not all families lived with horrible parents. Not everyone was sick of life. I learned how to live and how to be a real person. My life was changing. The man who ran patriots in action went to jail for the rest of his life due to owing the IRS lots of money. As the group broke up I lost contact with the few people I knew from there. But eventually got interested in how to be a patriot over time. It is nothing great. IT is not an surmountable amount of info. It will not make you famous. It is simply getting involved. IT is that simple. As for our troops. You don't have to be one to appreciate what they are doing to support them. Even if you do not agree with what the government is doing support the troops. After all when they get back and the country is involved in a civil war they will either kill you or join you. I would rather have them join me.

I care about the people who fight our wars and fight for you and me..... whether local for across the world. YES they fight for you and everyone here. They for your right to have what ever beliefs you have, and say openly you have been offended.. For your right to own guns, for your right to free speech. For your right to walk freely along the side walk and say what ever you want to say. IF it is a right.. Someone fought for that right. Someone either fought a war for it.. Or they fought here in court or in some way so you could have your rights not stomped on. They fought for the right of foreigners to come here and become an americans and live freely. In some countries you are arrested for saying something against the government. They fought for the right of prisoners to live with dignity to the best of their ability in prisons. Some countries throw you in prison and no one cares if you eat. There are no rights in some places. They fight for your right to own property and grow food. They fight so you can live freely and do what you want to do. So you can cuss me and any one else out that you don't like and not get arrested. SOO what you may think is free... Was paid for by our ladies and gentlemen over seas. They paid for it with their lives and by loosing limbs that were shot off or blown off by bombs, sleeping on dirt roads next to their tanks, working in 130 degree weather, not having a bath every day when they get off work, working terrible hours and days on end. Some times they don't sleep for 2 or 3 days. YOU would never do that unless you were paid to do it. THEY DON'T GET PAID ENOUGH TO DO THAT. But they do it. Their income is almost worse that minimum wage ( for what they do ) They will not get rich by being in the military.

I have lost friends. My friend who was a young lady at the time lost friends who were fellow soldiers. I have been affected either personally or through friends. WE ALL HAVE. I may not have ever been to war. But correct us if we are wrong about something. DONT SLAM US and walk away in disgust. Some of us are willing to learn. Don't under estimate the ability of people. Some are willing to do what ever it takes to help out. To learn to show people that being a patriot is more than just voting. It is working with other people, training, teaching, learning, working with others getting involved and actually doing something. SOME PEOPLE ARE UNABLE to do anything. They are physically emotionally or otherwise not able. Those of us who are able need to do for those who cannot.

I am all for our 2nd amendment rights. I will stand for our freedom until I can no longer stand or they kill me. They have all our troops over seas including most of those who are suppose to be here in case of local issues, civil wars or attacks made by other countries ...that would be the National Guard. SOO who do we have here to protect us. WELL way to many people feel we will never see war on U.S. soil. I am not so sure. But the only ones we may have here is ourselves. THE BIGGEST REASON to keep the 2nd amendment alive. NOT TAKING AWAY OUR GUNS. We need our guns. I don't care what people who don't like them say. The taliban would rather shoot you than be politically correct and talk about it. So if you are into talking to a man with a gun have at her. BUT DON'T expect me to be so nice. I for one want to be ready just in case. SO having guns and ammo is a critical part of being an American as far as I am concerned. I am going to protect my home and my country one way or another. I am gonna head for places I know that believe the same as I when it comes to a civil war or war of any kind that comes to this country. I do not believe for a moment that we are safe here. I am shocked at the people who believe with out a doubt that we are safe in this country. That war will never touch our shores. SORRY FOLKS it has already hit. REMEMBER 9/11??? YEAH and it will happen again. Whether it is a foreign country or our own government. It is hard for me to believe that My government wont just walk in one of these days and take over my home. I have the right to say no. But that wont stop them. Should they decide that one of us needs to be investigated well now days they will just do it. They aren't suppose to but they do it. They are doing things now that we would not dream of 50 years ago. OPEN YOUR EYES.

Part of the reason for groups.. Some actually do a lot for getting rid of the garbage in the government. Some are a place where people can come to learn about guns, political upheaval and how to deal with it and the laws that relate to it. How they personally do something to help the issues at hand. Some groups are simply a great place to meet people with whom you have beliefs in common. And by getting to know the people in this country and where they are and how they do things. You too can learn how to write letters to senators and the government and actually help to make things better. IF you sit there and scream and ask why no one is doing anything, make claims but have never written a single letter or signed a petition or made a phone call. Or even joined a local group where people get together. Then you need to get it together and quit screaming become teachable and start doing something other than sitting there acting like you have the world by the balls. Sorry folks. You do have to step out to be heard. And you cant lie about who you are or where you have been. And you cannot lie about being in the military others will find out whether or not it is true. Eventually the truth comes out. Those people who make a difference, make a difference because people back them up. Because there are people who work in the back ground making it possible for them to do the work that is needed.

You can make a difference. And if you think a group is doing nothing about the issues at hand. Then talk to the owners of the group about starting up a meet up in different states. IF you are a person who can teach people how to live through a war, Or how to deal with the government when they come to your door. Or how to plant food for survival. Or teach the law as it pertains to what is going on. THEN TEACH. Start something in the groups like a newsletter or a blog. Teach. Maybe you know more about what is really happening as far as something like the health care bill. MAYBE you know things that are not true and you know the truth about it.. YOU CAN BE the voice that brings the truth to people. Maybe you can start a shooters group teach people how to use a gun and work with others to fight for our 2nd amendment rights.. HOW to be safe with it. And teach the laws about owning guns. Maybe you know the constitution inside and out. TEACH ME. I would love to learn more about and it and what was behind the thought. I am teachable. Though I am a novice. I know what is right and what is wrong. Though I can be duped too. MANY people were duped into voting for Obama. I did not vote for him. MANY were made to believe due to dreams in their hearts that he would be the one to save the country. That he would bring about change. When what we see is a man who is trying to take our rights away. I see a man trying to take away and take over what is left of our religious rights. IF it is ok for other religions to practice and talk about their beliefs.. WHY IS IT SO wrong for christians to practice and talk about their beliefs.

My American dream will never happen. Not that I did not have a chance. But I did not know I had the chance. I did not know how to take advantage of the things that would have brought my American dream to me. I have always tried to learn the constitution. I have always tried to be the one that helped when others walked away. I was an advocate for people with disabilities for a few years When my own health took a turn for the worse due to bad accident. I have always tried to be real and teach myself the skills to get through tough times.
I have always tried to teach others what I know. I would have joined the military if I could have. By the time I lost the weight to join. My self esteem was so low it did not matter. I could not have passed boot camp I would have given up before I got 3 weeks into it. Sad but true. Today I am 49 years old and not a lot to show.. except people know me for who I am, being good, honest, hard working person with a love for her country and having tried to make things better for myself and those around me.

The one thing I hate more than anything.. Is people who stand there and expect the rest of the world to do everything for them. Those that scream the loudest might get the grease to shut them up but most us of know they are full of the most bull. It is true you have to work and teach yourself to get anywhere in this world. I did not know how to learn. I did not know how to help myself. I learned how to help myself about the time I became too sick to really be able to do anything physical to help my country. I have learned alot since then. And I have signed more petitions and written a lot of letters and made a lot of phone calls. That was the suggestion of people I have known to do. IT has made some differences. How ever there are a lot of things I may not know the outcome for years. Be prepared for what ever might come along.

WE are in the middle of a major change for this country. IF you don't step up to the plate and get heard and take action.. NOTHING will get done. In order for the right people to do what needs to be done YOU as an individual need to open your mouth and be noticed. If you sit there thinking your neighbor will do because he is always writing letters to state reps or senators he might be the only one for 40 miles around writing those letters. QUIT BEING AFRAID of taking a chance for change. YOU are not going loose your home or car or your family if you get heard. YOU MAY SAVE IT!!!! You need to step out and write letters be involved get to know the people in your community. You would be shocked what a few people working together can do. DO SOMETHING. Quit being prejudice or hateful, fearful or egotistical and worried about being embarrassed because you dont know. IF you learn you wont have to worry about your ego. Quit thinking that others don't have right to do what they do. QUIT WORRYING about what the other is or is not doing and just do what YOU can do to make a difference.difference.

I keep going over and over the same thing. The reality is. If it weren't for our troops we would have no freedom. IF it weren't for individuals getting involved we would have no freedom. If it weren't for those who are driven to make this country as great as it is it would be a third world country. The point is... AS an individual you can make a difference. Just get busy. Start with this group if you don't know where else to go...get to know the people here. YOU are bound to find someone who can teach you what you have been wanting to know. If you are on the internet there are so many groups you can join and learn from. If you are not then get involved in your community. If you are believer in our 2nd amendment rights... go to the nearest gun shop. You can learn a lot from them or they can point you in the right direction to get started. SOOO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR.

Thanks for reading. A fellow patriot.

God help us to give our children, and their children, a government that listens to its people.  A better government than we have today!
